Fall Visitors

One of our favorite times of year is finally here. Everything is beautiful when the leaves start turning and the air has that crisp chill in the morning and at night. Our sturdy maple in the back yard blesses us each year with more leaves than we know what to do with. This is just the beginning. When we took this photo last weekend the color was just starting to change, today the leaves are much more yellow and vibrant.


Grandpa has been battling pneumonia for a couple of months. He has spent the last two weekends in the hospital. Hopefully, the stronger antibiotics will knock it down this time.


Grandy faithfully sits by his side and offers companionship and encouragement.


Meanwhile, Zoe gets a lot of love and attention from her proud Dad.


It looks like everyone is worn out here. Time for a little rest.


Our neice Dawn and her family came from Maryland to visit us and to meet Zoe and to check up on Grandpa and Grandy. We were lucky enough to have Alisha and Noel here at the same time. We missed Cory, he was busy with school and life in Reno.


Zoe's Mom, Megan, is looking great. Dawn's husband Wade and their son Conner came to meet everyone and have fun out here in the Wild WIld West too.


Conner is a great kid who just can't stop smiling! And that's a good thing.


Grandy took us to Olive Garden for dinner. Don't Dawn and Wade look satisfied?



Noel went exploring in our backyard and discovered a little flower.


Later that night she got a new puppy to play with. No, we haven't gone off the deep end, it's not real. But don't tell Noel that.


And, we can't close without one more photo of the newest addition to the family. She's 5 days old here.

Announcing The New Addition To McFadden Clan

A new flower has arrived on the McFadden Clan Family Tree.
Steven and Megan are proud, and very tired, parents of Zoe Kay McFadden.
She was born in Layton, Utah, Sunday, Oct. 14, at 8:03pm. She weighed in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 20 inches long.



Now for the unveiling.....

She comes in a tiny bundle.


And here she comes....


Here are Zoe and her fantastic parents. We are really proud of them. They are already giving her lots of special love and attention.

Grandma Mac helped Megan bring Zoe to us. She helped them breath together and ease the pain of labor.

The Baby Count Down Has Begun

We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our new granddaughter ZOE. Steven and Megan went to the doctor today and were told that Megan is dialated to a 1! So, it looks like things are starting to move a little bit. They are really excited and can't wait to see their new daughter! Wish them the best!!

Look for updates on this posting, I'll add to it if I can figure out how to do it.

We need your vote!

We are getting ready to do a complete make-over on our bathroom. The kids can't believe that we're finally doing it. We have choosen the soaking tub and the granite for the walls around the tub. Now we need to choose the tile for the floor. That's where we need your help. We have two choices so far, with more coming next week.



The two big tiles are what we're considering for the floor. The two little ones are the bathtub walls. The beige (sorta) is the for the wall and the darker one is the trim.

Which tile do you like for the floor? I know the photo isn't the greatest, they have a lot more texture in real life. Just use your imagination. We're going to a tile store in Salt Lake next week so we'll have more choices after that.

Grandpa's Sister Doris Visits

Today Grandpa and Grandy had a short visit with his sister Doris and her husband Jim.


Doris is Grandpa's younger sister and lives in Twin Falls, Idaho which is about 160 miles north of Ogden. They drove down in the morning and met Grandpa and Grandy, Suzanne and I at the appartment. Then, we all went to eat at the Olive Garden. It was an interesting trip for us, going with 4, 80 and 90 year olds in various stages of aging. We certainly are blessed with good health and see the need to keep active and healthy so we can enjoy our Golden Years (whenever that is!).

The visit was short but, great. We had a chance to catch up on family news and fill them in on our growing family.

The next big event in our lives is in the hands of Steven and Megan. They're expecting Oct. 13, which is NEXT week and also happens to be my brother David's birthday. We're excited!
